Up to Date

Hey there,

Here I am, breaking my most recent routine of sleeping around 10p.m. and waking up at 6a.m. - which I still intend to do, but unfortunately, I ruined the first bit over two cappuccinos and a mocha after midday. Three days without drinking coffee and that's when it gets to you...

I finally gave in to Bridget Jones' Diary trilogy and, as it seems, the latest fellow in my love life has been surprisingly well represented by Hugh Grant's character in the first film. The wealthy tall guy who wears linen shirts, brown leather jackets, witty, cultured, attractive, and a charming prat - even the hair was resembling. I've always thought it to be one of those films I would watch if I ever hit rock bottom - didn't happen. I actually adored it so much I watched all three in a row. Could that be more problematic than romcoms' deceptive patterns of real-life love?

I know I have been a bit absent here, and honestly, I don't know why - I do spend a lot of time thinking about the blog and how much I enjoy this little corner of the internet. I am just not reliable when it comes to creating online content, yet. It's something to improve on - ignoring all the million things I could be better at, but this one I enjoy quite a lot. Not much has been going on.

Received good grades last term, became politics course rep of my year, got a lovely mentor who lives in New York, escaped coronavirus for three considerably close times so far, went home for Christmas, learnt how to cook apple pie, and voted in the elections for the first time a couple of days ago, after a long three-hour wait at the General Consulate of Portugal in London. Well, perhaps a few things. Hope everything is ok and that you've made it through these tough seasons in the best way possible. I guess I'll see you when I see you,
